Chester “Chet” Faudskar
Chester Curtiss Faudskar “Chet” was born April 18, 1943 in Bismarck North, Dakota to L.C. and Marie Faudskar. He attended Bismarck Schools and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1961. Following graduation, Chet joined the United States Air Force and served honorably until 1965.
He married Elaine Hinsz on May 20th 1966 in Bismarck. The couple settled in Wahpeton, North Dakota and Chet attended the North Dakota State School of Science. He graduated in 1969 with a degree in Electronics Technology. After graduation, they moved to Wheaton Ill, where Chet worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories as a Design Engineer. In 1981, Chet received a U.S. patent for his work on integrated circuit modules. In 1992, Chet’s work took the family to New Hampshire where he would retire in 1996 after 27 years with AT&T Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies. After retirement, Chet and Elaine moved back to North Dakota and lived in Mercer. In 2018, Chet and Elaine moved to Byron, MN, to be closer to their grandchildren.
Chet had many hobbies and interests. He obtained his private pilot’s license in 1971 and he would fly the family on many vacations. He was also a competitive shooter competing in Cowboy Action Shooting events around the country with his wife Elaine who competed alongside of him. Chet was also very talented at woodworking. His family, competitive shooters and others used his many creations; including, designing and building the display for the organ pipes at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in
Mercer ND.
Chet is survived by his wife Elaine of Byron MN; his sons Tom (Kate) of Byron Eric (Staci) of Skowhegan, ME and grandchildren Cole and Claire of Byron MN.
He was preceded in death by his infant son; parents, his brothers Arvid and Sidney and sister-in-law Barbara.
