The Memorial Service for Lois Braaten will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:00am at East St. Olaf Church with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, May 31st at Byron Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Lois Braaten, 71 of Byron died Friday, May 25th, 2018 at her residence after a long battle with MS and a short two week battle with cancer.
Lois was born June 18, 1946 in Rochester, MN to Luella and Lester Olson. She married Bob Braaten June 5, 1985. She was an avid fishermen and Bob’s “Best Fishing Buddy!”. Lois enjoyed gardening, canning and lawn mowing. She loved driving through the U.S. and Alaska, going to Hawaii and stopping at a casino or two. Lois also was enjoying having great-grandchildren around to make her laugh.
Lois is survived by her husband, Bob Braaten; seven children, Lougene (Jim) McClaflin of Byron, Robin (Bob) Heim of Kasson, Gene Arndt of Mantorville, Tracey Braaten of Rochester, Chad (Tammy) Braaten of Buffalo City, WI, Russ (MaryJo) Arndt of Byron and Adam (Nong Yowe) Braaten of Kasson; along with 14 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids; 3 sisters, Phyllis Jensen of Stockton, MO, Shirly Mahn of Stockton, MO and Marlene (Danny) Fenske of Kellogg and one brother, Duane (Bev) Olson of Apopkia, FL.

So sorry to hear of Lois' passing. The times we had together still make both of us laugh out loud. W know that dad (Sherwood) and Lois will party hardy as they watch over us. Much love to Bob.
My sympathy goes out to Lois's family. I hadn't realized she had been in poor health. She was still so pretty
as I remember her when she visited school for conferences, etc. Rest in peace.
