Debra Jean (Ramthun) Ramsey, 69, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, AZ due to complications following surgery. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and wife. Debra was born April 2, 1952, the oldest of 3 daughters, to Charles and Carol (Clark) Ramthun in Rochester, MN. In 1954, they moved to Byron, MN. Deb grew up in Byron and graduated from Byron High School in 1970. She continued her education at Mankato State College and graduated with teaching degrees in Spanish and Special Education. Deb’s working career covered 40 years with jobs at The Home Insurance Company (1977), the Daly Agency Inc. (1989), US Bank (1993) and Modernistic Inc. (2004). All jobs were in the Accounts Receivable/Payable and Accounting fields. Deb retired in 2015. On November 24, 2004, Deb and Dave Ramsey were married on the rim of the Grand Canyon. After retirement, Deb and Dave moved to Sun City, AZ to escape the cold Minnesota winters. Deb loved traveling to Las Vegas and Mexico, with multiple Mexican trips to Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta and Zihuatanejo. Deb is survived by her loving husband, Dave; mother, Carol; sister, Michelle (Glenn) Seibel: sister Teresa (Jeff) Greene: nephew Paul Greene and nieces Brianna Cooper and Tiffany Holt and 4 grand nieces and nephews. Deb is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ramthun. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on September 29th at the Byron (MN) Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. on September 30th at the Byron United Methodist Church.
